The Condo

Contemporary & Fresh

One of the more challenging spaces, it was crucial from the get-go that I find scale-appropriate furniture to open up the small, awkward rooms and hide the bridge view. Calm warm tones with cool pops of colour transformed this small space.

With only four days to turn a sterile 800 square-foot condo – still under construction – into an inviting home, I saw no option but to wrangle my out-of-town friend Sarah to help me by promising her martinis and a trip to the art gallery. She later learned that meant she'd have to work during her vacation.

One of the perks to staging with Dekora is Jay Hodgins; he went with me to Inform Interiors to find everything. With smaller spaces, the select pieces you bring into the home must create an optimal furniture arrangement, increase the perception of area, and make a strong statement about the lifestyle you are marketing. We staged sophistication with a Noguchi paper lamp, Split coffee table, and art from one of my favorites: Aion Gallery. Simple accessories and a strategically placed rug brought the look together.

Sarah got her martini and wasn't hurt in the process.
